A number of clubs have been asking about the arrangements for the forthcoming season now that the Government have released the road map for recovery. Whilst the road map states that outdoor sports can resume from 29th March we still await “Return to Play” guidance from Bowls England, including format of games allowed, resources and best practice to support the safe running of clubs and games, shared travelling in cars to and from games, use of full/partial clubhouse facilities etc. before we can formulate our playing policy for the coming season.
As soon as we have this information from Bowls England and Bowls Leics, we will issue a set of fixtures. Whilst many players hope for a full season of games, we may have to resort to a “part” season dependant on the outcome from Bowls England’s guidance notes. Clubs with teams in any of the leagues are asked to confirm to the Secretary or myself if they have any amendments to the number of teams they are entering if it is different to last season.
In the mean time, stay safe.
