2019 saw the dawn of a new era for bowls clubs in the Loughborough area with the launch of the first season under the stewardship of Bowls Loughborough after 101 years run by Loughborough & District Bowling Association.
Bowls Loughborough, affiliated to Bowls Leicestershire, is the Administrative body for affiliated outdoor bowls leagues within the Loughborough and district area, providing competitive bowls for both men and ladies.
2024 season will see Seventy teams from 21 clubs make up the membership, with 32 teams competing in the Men’s Monday afternoon league, 17 teams in the Men’s Thursday evening league, 13 teams in the Ladies’ Tuesday morning league and a further 8 teams in the Ladies’ Friday evening league.
In addition, Bowls Loughborough administer five Benevolent Cups along with both Men’s and Ladies’ Champion of Champions singles competitions. Apart from the Men’s and Ladies Champion of Champions which are four bowl singles competitions, all leagues and Benevolent competitions take the three bowl triples format.
